Reader's Journal
My experience with the novel was a very stressful one. It started to get stressful when Willem first left Allyson in Paris. She didn't know French, didn't know where she was, and didn't know how to get home. It was also stressful when Allyson finally made a friend in college but she drove them away. Another part was when Allyson's parents found out about her trip to Paris. The most stressful part of the book was when Allyson went back to Paris and found Willem. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. From this book, I learned that you should live your life and follow your own path, not the path others have picked out for you. I also learned that yo should bee careful who you trust, Allyson trusted Willem and he left in the middle of Paris. Another thing I learned us that you should know who your real friends are, Mel was supposedly Allyson's best friend but she pretty much does not contact Allyson for six months and doesn't take Allyson's calls. Something a reader might get out of this book is that no one is who they pretend to be. Throughout the book, Allyson finds out who she is a person, mainly through her trip to Paris. When in Paris she discovers a new side of herself. When she comes back to the United States she feels empty and depressed. Allyson feels like she can't go on until she finds the answers she needs and to find the answers she needs to find Willem.
